What is Apex Construct all about?
Apex Construct is a story-driven, single player action/adventure made exclusively for VR. Wield an upgradable cyber bow & shield combination to battle enemy robots while exploring a shattered world, gradually realizing what led to the extinction of mankind.
Is the game localized?
Yes, this is only for PC & Quest. We have added subtitles for English, French, Spanish, German, Korean and Japanese!
Is it optimized for Quest 2?
Yes, we have added higher resolution, removed foveated rendering, added ragdoll effects to enemies, and more particle and audio effects.
How many save slots are there?
There is 1 save slot.
Is the game cross buy on Quest/Rift?
Yes!
Is there only teleportation movement in the game?
No, you can choose how to play the game, either with Teleportation or with Free Locomotion, and there are numerous other settings options for you to create a comfortable experience.
Does the game have any multiplayer components?
No, only single player.
Why no Dual Shock support on PSVR?
The action in Apex Construct consists of true-to-life archery, shield wielding and grenade tossing. When adventuring, you will pick things up, turn them around, use them or throw them. We decided early that the Move controllers were the best way to create that true sense of immersion, to give the player a sense that they are really doing these things in the most realistic manner as possible.
How long is the adventure?
There are alot of thinigs to do in Apex Construct. We believe that simply going through the game´s main story will take a general player around 5 hours, but there are tons of secrets to find, equipment to level up, missions to replay and new areas to unlock.
Is the game performing better or is more optimized on a specific platform?
The game plays great on all platforms. There are of course differences in how you control the game because the tech is different from platform to platform but it has always been important for us that the game plays perfect no matter what platform you own.
Why did you choose the bow as the main weapon, and why are there no other wepons in the game?
We prototyped several ways to interact with the world and found the bow and arrow ideal for VR. There is a clear physical connection to your actual movements and how well you aim in-game, and that is very satisfying. We might look into other weapons for AC in the future, but for the initial release we set one clear goal: build the best bow and arrow for VR and focus on that.
What makes the game unique in VR?
Everything you do in the game is built around your physical interactions with the world, whether it is shooting your bow, rummaging through drawers or typing away at computers. This type of gameplay just isn’t possible on other platforms. With a VR headset and two motion controllers, you are there in the world.
